Mission

Our mission is to provide independent, fact-based journalism to Cambodian audiences at a time when access to reliable information is increasingly limited.

We aim to inform, empower, and connect people through truthful reporting, thoughtful analysis, and open public dialogue. We believe access to accurate information is essential for a healthy society and the future of democracy in Cambodia.

Who We Are

We are veteran Cambodian journalists, formerly with Radio Free Asia’s Khmer Service.

When our newsroom closed and independent media space narrowed, we made a simple decision: keep going.

We came together to launch TV Free Asia (TFA), a small nonprofit newsroom dedicated to delivering independent, fact-based news to Cambodians both inside the country and across the global diaspora.

Every day, we continue this work because we believe people should not lose access to the truth.

The Challenge

Independent journalism in Cambodia is under intense pressure. Newsrooms have closed. Journalists have been pushed out. The space for truthful reporting continues to shrink.

At the same time, producing credible journalism requires real resources. It takes experienced reporters, editors, and technical staff working behind the scenes every day.

As a small nonprofit, we are operating with very limited funding while demand for trustworthy information continues to grow.

Impact

Even with these challenges, our work is reaching hundreds of thousands of people, many of them inside Cambodia where independent voices are increasingly rare.

We do more than report the news. We create space for informed discussion, critical thinking, and connection. We keep important issues visible and give voice to perspectives that might otherwise disappear.
